A very fun day in Long Beach at this year's Fred Hall Fish and tackle show. There were tons of tackle, boats, kayaks etc there to check out, but we only had one day to see as much as we could. I also got a chance to meet up with some of the company reps from Ocean Kayak, Hobie, Jackson kayaks, and Feel Free to see the latest designs. Something new from Jackson Kayaks is a new fishing SUP (pictured here). Can handle up to 350 lbs and is 35" wide. Comes with rod holder attachments and a Go Pro mount in the front and the back of the board.
Some of the new tackle out were mostly material based rather than design. Looking forward to testing some of them out when rockfish season opens on May 1st.
A new App is out that shows you the launch sites, tides, and protected areas MPA's (marine protected areas) automatically. Very cool stuff. More on this in a later post.
The tackle show was fun, filled with people and neat new stuff. Going back next year for sure.
